History
Kamisawa Station opened on 27 March 2011 as part of the Sakura-dōri Line's extension from Nonami to Tokushige, with its name confirmed on 17 May 2010. The single underground island platform sits roughly 20 metres below the surface because of the sloping ground above, and is equipped with platform-edge doors that accommodate trains up to six 20-metre cars. The two surface exits both have elevators. Day-to-day operations are handled under contract by Nippon Express, and the station is managed from the Sakura-dōri Line's Imaike district office.

Notes
Because Tokushige terminus is so close at hand, almost every passenger boarding at Kamisawa is travelling toward Imaike or central Nagoya — making this one of Nagoya's most one-directional subway stops.
