History

Uwagoromo Station opened on 31 August 1920 as a stop on the privately owned Mikawa Railway. On 18 December 1929 the Mikawa Railway opened the Okazaki Line (later renamed the Koromo Line) from Uwagoromo, expanding the station to two island platforms with four tracks. The Mikawa Railway was absorbed by Meitetsu on 1 June 1941, bringing the station into the Mikawa Line. Freight handling ended in 1961, the Koromo Line closed on 4 March 1973, and the station has been unattended under remote management since 1 October 2003.
