History
Tsuboi Station is a two-platform JR West halt on the Kishin Line in Tsuyama, Okayama Prefecture, 98.3 km from the line's southern terminus at Himeji. It opened on 1923-08-21 with the Japanese Government Railways' Sakubi Line between Tsuyama and Mimasaka-Oiwake. Successive reorganisations placed it on the Sakubi East Line in 1929, the through Sakubi Line in 1930, and the Kishin Line in 1936-10-10. Freight and parcel handling were abolished on 1973-03-12, the station was destaffed on 1986-11-01, and it passed to JR West at the 1987 JNR breakup. The original station building has since been removed; only small waiting shelters remain on each platform.

Notes
Tsuboi has a designated freight siding for maintenance-of-way vehicles, a reminder of the broader station layout it held before the station building was removed.
