History

Hokusei Chūō Kōenguchi Station is a single-platform stop on the Sangi Railway Sangi Line in Yokkaichi, Mie Prefecture, 11.2 km from the line's origin at Kintetsu-Tomida (station number S07). It opened on 1931-07-23 as Daichō Station (大長駅, Ōnaga-eki). On 1997-04-01 the station was relocated 100 m toward the Tomida end and renamed Hokusei Chūō Kōenguchi after the nearby Hokusei Central Park. The replacement station was recognised in the fourth Chūbu Top 100 Stations list, and its signs still note the former Daichō name for the benefit of long-time users.

Notes

The platform signs still print the former "旧 大長" name under the current Hokusei Chūō Kōenguchi reading, and the old Daichō name survives nearby on a dental clinic and on a community-bus stop.
