History

Tsuchihashi Station (MY05) is on the Meitetsu Mikawa Line (Sanjō) in Tsuchihashi-chō, Toyota, Aichi, 11.1 km from the line's terminus at Chiryū. It opened on 5 July 1920 as a station on the privately-owned Mikawa Railway, became a Meitetsu station when Mikawa Railway merged into the company on 1 June 1941, and lost its first station building to Typhoon Vera (Isewan) in September 1959 — a second building was completed at the end of December that year. A third generation with crew quarters on the upper floor was completed in March 1995, and an overhead concourse station building was finished on 27 March 2010. Manaca service began on 11 February 2011, and on 25 March 2023 the station shifted to special-duty (partial) staffing.

Notes

A spur once branched north from Tsuchihashi into Toyota Motor's Motomachi factory, with steel coil shipments inbound and Publica passenger cars outbound; the spur was electrified outside the factory grounds and Meitetsu electric locomotives shunted wagons in and out.
