History

Suenohara Station opened on 31 January 1988 in Toyota, Aichi Prefecture, the same day the former JR Central Okata Line was transferred to the third-sector Aichi Loop Railway Company and reopened as the Aichi Loop Line. Located 14.0 kilometres from the line's starting point at Okazaki, the station sits in a cutting with two opposed side platforms. Originally unstaffed, it was staffed for fare-collection duties from December 2003 and gained year-round staffing in April 2013. Automated ticket machines were installed in January 2006 and TOICA IC-card service began on 2 March 2019.
