History

Torokko Hozukyō Station serves as the third stop on the Sagano Scenic Line, a sightseeing route that traces the Hozukyō Ravine near the former JR West Sagano alignment. Located in Kameoka, Kyoto, the station occupies the site of the original Hozukyō Station on the San'in Main Line, which began as Matsuoyama Signal Box in 1929 and was promoted to a passenger stop named Hozukyō in 1936. When the JR West line was rerouted and double-tracked in 1989, the old station closed; the Sagano Scenic Railway repurposed the site and reopened it under the Torokko name in 1991.

Notes

A pedestrian suspension bridge over the Hozu River is the only public access to the platform.
