History
Ikeba Station is an unstaffed stop on the JR Central Iida Line in the city of Shinshiro, Aichi Prefecture, situated 50.1 km from the line's starting point at Toyohashi. It was established on 2 November 1936 as the Ikeba Signal Stop on the now-defunct Sanshin Railway. The line was nationalized on 1 August 1943, becoming part of what would be the Iida Line, and the stop was promoted to a full station under its present name on 1 December 1946. With the 1987 dissolution of JNR, operation passed to Central Japan Railway. The platform has only a small shelter.
