History
Kameoka Station serves the San'in Main Line (Sagano Line) in the city of Kameoka, Kyoto Prefecture, 20.2 km from Kyoto, and is operated by JR West. It opened on 15 August 1899 with the Kyoto Railway's extension from Saga to Sonobe. JR West took over from JNR in 1987, and the current station building, which sits above the tracks and provides entrances on both the north and south sides, was completed in 2008. Station number JR-E11 was assigned in March 2018.
