History
Teramoto Station opened on 18 February 1912 with the Aichi Electric Railway's section between the former Demmachō Station and Ōno Station (today Ōnomachi), on what is now the Meitetsu Tokoname Line, in Chita City, Aichi Prefecture. The station became part of Nagoya Railroad with the 1935 merger that created Meitetsu. Freight handling ended in fiscal 1967, and a new overhead-style station building was completed on 30 March 1982. Platform usable length was extended to six cars in fiscal 1983, staffing was withdrawn on 22 December 2004, and accessibility works including an elevator were completed in February 2009. IC card travel using manaca began on 11 February 2011.
