History
Minakuchi Station opened on 28 December 1900 on what is today the Ohmi Railway Main Line, 43.8 km from the line's terminus at Maibara. The station sits on the northern fringe of the town centre; later, the company opened the closer-in Minakuchi-Ishibashi and Minakuchi-Jōnan stations to better serve central Minakuchi. Two unnumbered opposed side platforms are connected by a level crossing to the station building. Until 16 March 2015 the line operated some shuttle services that began and ended at Minakuchi, with reversing carried out by the driver in coordination with the dispatcher. The station became unstaffed on 1 March 2026; the station number is OR34.

Notes
Until 2015 trains terminating at Minakuchi had to reverse on the main line itself — with a dedicated shunting signal installed at the Maibara end — because the station had no run-round facilities.
