History

Kita-Anjō Station opened on 1 July 1926 with the Hekikai Electric Railway, initially using a converted shopfront as its booking office. Around 1941 the station gained a full-time staffer, and a purpose-built depot followed in October 1950, though the building was demolished in June 1973. Hekikai Electric was absorbed into Meitetsu on 1 May 1944, and the station has been unstaffed since 1 March 1967. Centralised station management arrived on 29 October 2007, with Tranpass service following on 14 November; the manaca IC card began on 11 February 2011, and Tranpass was retired on 29 February 2012.
