History
Shirasawa Station (Meitetsu station number KC06) opened on 1 April 1931 as Chita-Shirasawa Station on the Chita Railway, in Shirasawa, Agui, Chita-gun, Aichi. The Chita Railway merged with Meitetsu on 1 February 1943. The station was destaffed on 1 October 1949 and renamed Shirasawa on 1 December 1949. The platform effective length was extended from four cars to six in 1987. The central-management system was introduced on 25 January 2007 and the Tranpass IC system on 14 February 2007; the manaca IC card began on 11 February 2011 and Tranpass ended on 29 February 2012.

Until around 1983 some local trains skipped Shirasawa altogether — a vestige of an earlier era when several smaller Kōwa Line stations were passed by stopping trains; Handa-guchi and Age both received full stops earlier, but Shirasawa was the last on this stretch to be served by every local.
