History
Miai Station opened on April 1, 1926 as a stop on the privately operated Aichi Electric Railway in what is now Okazaki, Aichi Prefecture, on the line that is today the Meitetsu Nagoya Main Line. The Aichi Electric Railway was absorbed into the Meitetsu group on August 1, 1935. Platforms and tracks were elevated in December 1987 and the station building was rebuilt at the same time, leaving two elevated island platforms linked by an elevated concourse. Miai is staffed and equipped with automated ticket gates supporting manaca; in fiscal 2017 it averaged about 8,402 passengers per day.
