History
Rinkū Tokoname Station is an intermediate stop on the Meitetsu Airport Line, located on a reclaimed island opposite Chūbu Centrair International Airport. The Airport Line first began limited service between Tokoname and the airport on 16 October 2004, but Rinkū Tokoname was not yet operational and trains passed through. The station opened to the public on 29 January 2005, ahead of the airport itself. Manaca IC card support began in February 2011. Although the station has been unattended throughout its existence, it sits adjacent to Aeon Mall Tokoname, opened in December 2015, which drove a marked rise in patronage from 2015 onward.

Notes
Because pedestrians, bicycles, and motorcycles under 125 cc are prohibited from using the Centrair Skybridge to the airport island, some travellers heading to the airport must transfer to a train at this station.
