History

Kutsukawa Station opened on 3 November 1928 with the Nara Electric Railway's section between Momoyama-Goryōmae and Saidaiji (today Yamato-Saidaiji), in what is now Jōyō, Kyoto Prefecture. The Nara Electric Railway merged into Kintetsu on 1 October 1963, at which point the station became part of the Kintetsu Kyoto Line. PiTaPa service began on 1 April 2007, and the station became completely unstaffed on 10 January 2024. The platform is laid out as two opposing side platforms with no overpass or underpass between them, so each side has its own separate ticket gate. The effective platform length is six cars.
