History

Dōjōminamiguchi Station opened on 18 December 1928 with the Kobe Arima Electric Railway's Sanda Line. On 9 January 1947 the operator merged with the Sanki Electric Railway to form Shin'yū Sanki Electric Railway, the predecessor of today's Kobe Electric Railway (Shintetsu). The station building was rebuilt in a south-European style in March 2007, with multifunction toilet facilities added. It is now an unstaffed siding station controlled remotely from the centre station at Shijimi, with a single island platform serving two passable tracks plus a stub siding once used to load track ballast.

Notes

Although the surrounding district had little housing in 2007, the population of the Dōjō–Hatta area grew by roughly 50 percent in the following decade and the station's daily ridership rose by about 70 percent over the same period.
