History
Nirō Station opened on 18 December 1928 with the inauguration of the Kōbe Arima Electric Railway's Sanda Line. The operator became Shin'yū-Sanki Dentetsu (later Kobe Electric Railway) on 9 January 1947 through the merger with Miki Electric Railway. On 1 April 1979 the official reading of the station name was changed from "Niro" to "Nirō".

Notes
The station was assigned an elevation of 176 m above sea level. Operations are entirely remote-controlled from a centre station via the operator's optical-network station-management system, so Nirō is staffed only by patrolling personnel.
