History
Suzuka Circuit Inō Station opened on 1 September 1973 as Inō Station on the Japan National Railways Ise Line. On 27 March 1987, four days before the JNR's dissolution, the Ise Line was transferred to the third-sector Ise Railway and the station was renamed to its present form, advertising its role as the nearest railway access to the Suzuka Circuit roughly 25 minutes away on foot. The station has two opposed side platforms on an embankment, with no station building; it is normally unstaffed, but during the Suzuka 8 Hours endurance race and the Formula One Japanese Grand Prix temporary ticket counters, special expresses, and additional stopping services are operated.

Notes
On Formula One and 8 Hours race days the station hosts a dedicated express, the "Suzuka Grand Prix", that begins and ends here — necessitating empty deadhead runs between Tsu, Yokkaichi or Tamagaki and this station because the platforms have no holding sidings.
