History
Higiri Station opened on 23 July 1985 as a new stop on the Ōigawa Railway Main Line. Service was suspended after a landslide at Kamio Station on 17 August 2003 and resumed on 25 October 2003. The station has a single side platform with a plastic-corrugated wait shelter at its north (Senzu-side) exit; it is unattended with no station building and no toilet.

Notes
Although Higiri sits within walking distance of Daikanchō Station, the local administrative centre, the station has so few stopping trains that even locals scarcely use it; the Ōigawa Bypass interchange and a road sign that points to Shin-Kanaya rather than Higiri are visible from the platform.
