History
Rokugō Station opened on 26 April 1986 on the JNR Tōkaidō Main Line between Fujieda and Shimada, as a passenger-only stop established in response to requests from Shimada City. JR Central succeeded the station on 1 April 1987 at JNR privatisation. TOICA service began on 1 March 2008, and station numbering CA23 was added in March 2018. The 210-metre relative platforms straddle a simple overhead station building connecting the north and south sides of the line; the central two tracks function as headshunts allowing limited expresses and freight trains to pass without stopping. The station is operated as a contracted station, with Fujieda Station providing management oversight.

Notes
On the north side of the station stands a monument commemorating Japan's narrow-gauge speed record, set on 21 November 1960 when a Class KuMoYa 93 electric railcar reached 175 km/h near the station — at the time the world narrow-gauge speed record.
