History
Agaho Station began service on 1 November 1911 as the Agaho Signal Stop in what is now the city of Himeji, Hyōgo Prefecture. It was upgraded to a full passenger station on 15 April 1913 and sits today on the JR San'yō Main Line, 59.4 km west of Kobe and 92.5 km from Osaka. The station has one ground-level side platform and one ground-level island platform connected by a footbridge, and it remains staffed. With the privatisation and breakup of the Japanese National Railways on 1 April 1987, operation passed to the West Japan Railway Company (JR West). The surrounding neighbourhood includes the ruins of Eiga Castle, Aga Shrine, and Himeji City Agaho Elementary School.
