Himeji-Bessho Station opened on 1 March 2005 as an infill station on the JR San'yō Main Line, on the northeast side of the JR Freight Himeji Freight Station and operated by JR West. It lies in the city of Himeji, Hyōgo Prefecture, 48.4 kilometers from Kobe and 81.5 kilometers from Osaka. The station consists of two ground-level side platforms connected by a footbridge and is staffed. Station numbering was introduced in March 2018, assigning Himeji-Bessho the identifier JR-A82.
