History

Kita-Itami Station opened on 1 April 1944 on the Fukuchiyama Line (JR Takarazuka Line) in Itami, Hyōgo Prefecture. With JNR privatisation on 1 April 1987 the station passed to JR West. Station numbering was introduced in March 2018, assigning Kita-Itami the identifier JR-G53. The station consists of a ground-level island platform serving two tracks, connected to the station building by a footbridge. Two depot tracks lie on the west side; last trains to Takarazuka and certain rapid services to Shin-Sanda overnight here. The station has a staffed ticket office. It is located 7.9 kilometers from the line terminus at Amagasaki and 15.6 kilometers from Osaka.

Notes

The station stands roughly 600 metres northwest of Osaka International Airport's runway, and a notice on platforms warns that arrival announcements can be inaudible over the noise of jet engines on takeoff and landing.
