History
Yumesakigawa Station opened on 15 October 1940 as the initial terminus of the Sanyo Railway Aboshi Line, in what is now Hirohata-ku, Himeji, Hyōgo Prefecture. The line was extended further west to Nittetsumae Station (now Hirohata Station) on 23 December the same year, making Yumesakigawa an intermediate stop. A passing loop was installed on 1 September 1957, and the station building was rebuilt in December 1969. Barrier-free improvements and a new south entrance began in August 2023, with works completed and the south gate opened on 22 June 2024. The station lies 3.6 kilometres from the line’s eastern terminus at Shikama and is designated SY 52.
