History
Arimaguchi Station opened on 28 November 1928 as Karatoe Station with the Kobe Arima Electric Railway’s Arima Line between Minatogawa and Dentetsu-Arima (now Arima Onsen). The Kobe Arima Electric Railway merged with Miki Electric Railway on 9 January 1947, forming the operator now known as Kobe Electric Railway. The station was renamed Arima Onsenguchi on 20 March 1951 and took its current name on 1 September 1954. It serves as the terminus of the Sanda Line, which branches here from the Arima Line. Derailments occurred in the station yard in early 2006 and on 28 May 2013; track realignment after the 2013 incident took two years to fully restore through-running to Arima Onsen, completed on 28 June 2014.
