History

Momoyamadai Station opened on 24 February 1970 when Kita-Osaka Kyūkō Railway began service on the Namboku Line between Esaka and the temporary Senri-Chūō, with through running to the World Expo Central Entrance Station. Automatic fare gates arrived on 8 August 1984 and platforms were lengthened to handle nine-car formations in February 1987. Step-free works that began in November 2007 culminated in the opening of a new north entrance and concourse on 3 April 2010, and platform screen doors were brought into service on 11 March 2018. The station's outer walls were refurbished in April 2020.
