History

Chita-Okuda Station opened on 6 July 1975 on Meitetsu's then-new Chita New Line, initially unstaffed. When the line was extended south to Noma on 4 April 1976 it became a through station, and after Nihon Fukushi University opened nearby in April 1983 it was upgraded to a limited-express stop with daytime staffing. Automatic gates were installed in May 1987, full-day staffing began with the Tranpass installation on 14 July 2007, and Manaca cards have been accepted since 11 February 2011. From 28 September 2024 the station became special-duty staffing, leaving it unstaffed on weekends and holidays.

Notes

Despite being on a single-track line, Chita-Okuda's platforms are set up so a train can reverse here in either direction — a layout still used for charter services on Nihon Fukushi University graduation day.
