History

Azumada Stop opened on 14 July 1925 as part of the original Toyohashi Electric Railway line (now Toyohashi Railroad Azumada Main Line). It carries stop number 10 and is located in Azumada-chō, Toyohashi, Aichi Prefecture. The stop is unique on the Azumada Main Line in lacking conventional safety zones — both direction's loading positions are set short of the adjacent intersection so that boarding cars do not block traffic crossing through.

Notes

To warn drivers, the road surface at the boarding zone is painted in a different colour and each tram carries a flashing "boarding" lamp to alert vehicles that passengers are getting on or off.
