History
Minami-Settsu Station opened on 22 August 1997 on the Osaka Monorail main line, in Settsu City, Osaka Prefecture, with movable platform-edge barriers added on 26 December 2020. The elevated station has a single island platform serving two tracks. It sits between the north bank of the Yodogawa and the intersection of the Osaka Central Loop and the Osaka–Takatsuki Line, an area of road traffic significance but, unusually for an interchange-rich monorail, with no other rail line within two kilometres. The surrounding plain was largely logistics warehouses and farmland at the station's opening, but apartments and shops have followed, and Osaka Metro Imazatosuji's Idakano Station roughly equidistant from the next two monorail stops is named as an alternative for use during disruption.
