History
Akaiwaguchi Stop opened on 1 June 1960 as the new eastern terminus of the Toyohashi Railroad Azumada Main Line, when the line was extended 1.2 km east from Azumada and a new depot opened here, replacing the older depot at Azumada. The stop carries number 13 and is the easternmost private-railway station in Aichi Prefecture. Beyond the platform the track continues a few dozen metres further east and then doubles back to enter the Akaiwaguchi sub-depot, so cars entering or leaving service perform a switchback movement.
