History
Suita Station opened on 9 August 1876 and is now operated by the West Japan Railway Company on the JR Kyoto Line (Tōkaidō Main Line), 35.2 km from Kyoto and 548.8 km from Tokyo. The site also hosts a Japan Freight Railway depot. Station numbering was introduced in March 2018 and Suita was designated JR-A44. The station has two island platforms linked by an elevated concourse, but only the inner pair of tracks carries scheduled passenger trains; the outer tracks are fenced off and reserved for through running.
