History

Mukonoso Station opened on 20 October 1937 on the Hanshin Kyuko Railway (now Hankyu) Kobe Line, between Tsukaguchi and Nishinomiya-Kitaguchi, in the city of Amagasaki, Hyogo Prefecture. Its name was originally written with mixed kana and kanji as "Muko-no-so", but Hankyu founder Ichizo Kobayashi objected to mixing the scripts and the spelling was changed to all kanji. The south entrance was added in 1970 alongside a land-readjustment project. Barrier-free upgrades, including a footbridge and platform elevators, were completed in 2011, and station numbering (HK-07) followed on 21 December 2013. The station has two opposing side platforms serving two tracks at ground level.
