History

Moriguchishi Station opened on 15 April 1910 as Moriguchi Station on the Keihan Main Line, located in Moriguchi, Osaka Prefecture and operated by the private Keihan Electric Railway. It was renamed to its present form Moriguchishi (literally "Moriguchi City") on 20 June 1971. The current facility consists of two elevated island platforms serving four tracks on the third level, with the station building underneath and ticket gates on the second level on both the east and west sides. The station sits 8.3 km from the Keihan Main Line's southern terminus at Yodoyabashi.
