History
Takashi Station opened on 22 January 1924 as a station on the Atsumi Electric Railway (the present-day Toyohashi Railroad Atsumi Line). It became an intermediate stop on 25 April 1924 when the Shidanguchi (now Aichi University Mae) – Takashi section opened. The station passed to Nagoya Railroad's Atsumi Line through the 1 September 1940 merger and was transferred to Toyohashi Railroad on 1 October 1954. A two-storey reinforced-concrete station building was completed in June 1970, and the manaca IC card was introduced on 11 February 2011.

Notes
Takashi is the operating hub of the Atsumi Line: the rolling-stock depot and crew change-over base sit here, and a last train of the day from Shin-Toyohashi terminates at the station just before midnight. A freight branch once ran from the station to the Unitika Toyohashi plant; most of the track was lifted, but the surviving alignment near the station was repurposed as part of Takashi Ryokuchi park.
