History
Shimmori-Furuichi Station opened on 24 December 2006 with the inauguration of the Osaka Metro Imazatosuji Line. It sits in Asahi-ku, Osaka, just west of the Naka-Kanjō and National Route 163 interchange, and the name combines the two adjacent neighbourhoods of Shinmori (Asahi-ku) to the north and Furuichi (Jōtō-ku) to the south. On 1 April 2018 the Osaka Municipal Transportation Bureau was privatised and the station passed to Osaka Metro. The single island platform serving two tracks is underground and fitted with platform-edge doors; there is only one ticket gate.
