History

Higashi-Naruo Station opened on 21 November 1943 on the day the Hanshin Electric Railway Mukogawa Line entered service, sited a short walk from the line's Mukogawa terminus in Nishinomiya, Hyōgo Prefecture. Wartime conditions forced passenger service to halt on 5 January 1946; operation resumed on 10 October 1948. A passing loop was added on 3 April 1984 when the Mukogawa Line was extended south past Suzaki to Mukogawadanchimae, and station numbering (HS 53) was introduced on 1 April 2014. The station has no building, no staff, and only an ICOCA/PiTaPa simple reader at the platform edge.

Notes

The 400 m to neighbouring Suzaki Station is the shortest inter-station distance anywhere on the Hanshin network in revenue kilometres.
