History
Toyodachō Station is a relatively young addition to the Tōkaidō Main Line, opened by JR Central on 14 December 1991 between Iwata and Tenryūgawa stations after construction began on 11 September 1990. At opening the station sat in Toyoda Town in Iwata District, Shizuoka Prefecture; the town merged into the city of Iwata on 1 April 2005. The TOICA IC card became usable on 1 March 2008, and station number CA32 was assigned in March 2018. The two side platforms are linked by a bridge-style station building and the stop is staffed under contract by JR Tokai Passenger Service, managed from neighbouring Iwata Station.
