History
Komagabayashi Station opened on 7 July 2001 as part of the inaugural service of the Kobe Municipal Subway Kaigan Line. Located in Nagata-ku, the station has a single island platform serving two tracks and adopts the theme "fishing port, road to the sea", with platform walls evoking the local Sagicho festival held for over a thousand years on the nearby shore. From April 2011 a promotional billboard reading "Agro Garden Mae" was added under the station name; the secondary name "Three Kingdoms Town" (Sangokushi no Machi) is used because the station serves the nearby Kobe Sangokushi Garden.

Notes
The pedestrian tunnel between the platform and exit 2 plays seasonal sound effects—seabirds in spring and autumn, conch wind-bells in summer, ship whistles in winter—sensor-activated whenever a passenger walks through.
