History

Tezukayama-Sanchōme Station (HN07) is a Hankai Tramway Uemachi Line tram stop in Tezukayama, Sumiyoshi-ku, Osaka. It opened on 29 November 1900 as Tezukayama Station of Ōsaka Bashaki Tetsudō. After the parent company was renamed Ōsaka Densha Tetsudō and then Naniwa Densha Kidō, the line was absorbed into Nankai Railway in December 1909 and became Nankai's Uemachi Line. The stop was renamed Tezukayama-Sanchōme around 1937. Subsequent operator changes — Kinki Nippon Railway in June 1944, Nankai Electric Railway in June 1947, and the present Hankai Tramway in December 1980 — followed the rest of the network.

Notes

When this stop opened on 29 November 1900 it was simply called Tezukayama Station; the present three-digit suffix dates from a renaming around 1937, after the surrounding Tezukayama garden suburb had grown around the line.
