History
Shiki Station, in the city of Yao in Osaka Prefecture, opened on 1 April 1909 on the Kansai Main Line — locally branded the Yamatoji Line. Operated through the early 20th century by the Japanese government railway and then JNR, it passed to West Japan Railway Company on 1 April 1987 with the JNR privatisation. Station numbering was introduced in March 2018, assigning the station the code JR-Q26. It consists of two opposed side platforms connected by a footbridge, and remains a staffed station serving the Shiki residential district of Yao.
