History
Takawashi Station opened on 18 April 1922 on the Osaka Railway's Domyoji-to-Nunose extension, originally with a single island platform and two tracks at grade. The 1943 merger placed it on Kansai Express Railway, and the 1 June 1944 wartime consolidation transferred it to Kintetsu's Minami Osaka Line. PiTaPa acceptance began in April 2007. In January 2024 Habikino marked its 65th city anniversary by issuing commemorative entry tickets at Takawashi alongside Ega-no-shō and Furuichi, each in distinct designs. The station was destaffed around the clock from 10 November 2024 and is now monitored remotely under Fujiidera Station's management.
