History

Mitsubishi-jikō-mae Station is the southern terminus of the Mizushima Main Line in Kurashiki, Okayama Prefecture, operated by the Mizushima Rinkai Railway. The station opened on 17 September 1972 to serve the adjoining Mitsubishi Motors Mizushima Plant. From 1 April 1983 the starting point of the railway's Nishi-Futō Line was moved here from Mizushima Station, and that branch operated until its closure on 15 July 2016. Passenger trains historically ran only during peak commuting hours, but daytime service was added on 18 March 2007. The station has a single side platform and is unstaffed.
