History
Kōdo-Homachigawa Station opened on 4 March 2017 as the sole intermediate station on JR West's reopened Kabe Line extension, sited in Asakita-ku, Hiroshima. The line had been abandoned beyond Kabe in 2003, but a 1.6-kilometre stretch was reactivated and electrified in 2017 to reach Aki-Kameyama; this station, which had not existed before the closure, was added where a straight section of the former right of way allowed a platform to be inserted between Kabe and the new terminus. Its formal name was announced by JR West in July 2016, after a tentative "Shin-Kabe Station" placeholder.
