History
Ōsakasayamashi Station opened on 5 July 1917 as Kawachi-Handa Station on the Osaka Kōya Railway between Sayama and Takidani. Corporate succession brought it under the Nankai Railway in 1922, Kintetsu in the 1944 wartime merger, and Nankai Electric Railway in 1947. The station was renamed Sayamayūen-mae on 1 April 1950 to advertise the Nankai-operated Sayama amusement park, then renamed again to its present name on 23 December 2000 following the park's closure earlier that year, with the new name chosen by public vote. Station numbering NK65 was assigned in April 2012, and the station was made unstaffed from August of the same year.
