History
Shinodayama Station opened on 18 July 1929 as a stop on the Hanwa Electric Railway between Hanwa-Tennōji (now Tennōji) and Izumi-Fuchū. The railway was absorbed into Nankai's Yamate Line in December 1940 and wartime-nationalised on 1 May 1944, at which point the stop was upgraded to a full station and incorporated into the Hanwa Line. With JNR privatisation on 1 April 1987 the station passed to JR West. Automatic gates entered service in May 1998, ICOCA support began in November 2003, and station numbering JR-R36 was introduced in March 2018; a west exit on the Tennōji-bound platform opened on 30 March 2020.
