History
Isuzugawa Station opened on 15 December 1969 in the Nakamura district of Ise, Mie Prefecture, as the temporary terminus of the new Kintetsu Toba Line extending from Ujiyamada. The line was pushed on to Toba on 1 March 1970. A late dispute between Kintetsu, the city of Ise, and Ise Grand Shrine over a proposed "Naikū-mae" name was settled days before opening, producing the compound formal name "Isuzugawa (Naikū-mae)". The double track to Ujiyamada was completed on 25 December 1971 and to Asama on 11 April 1975. PiTaPa support began on 1 April 2007. Today the station is the practical gateway for pilgrims to the Naikū inner shrine.

Notes
Until 2012 the eastbound limited express to Nagoya departed from neighbouring Ujiyamada; that service was moved to start at Isuzugawa to give Naikū-bound passengers a direct boarding option from the shrine side.
