History
Mikanodai Station opened on 1 September 1984 as the access point for the Nankai-developed Mikanodai New Town in Kawachinagano, Osaka Prefecture. Built by the Nankai Electric Railway on its Kōya Line, the station carries station number NK71 and sits 30.6 km from Namba and 31.3 km from the line's Shiomibashi terminus. Two ground-level side platforms are connected by an elevated station building above the tracks. Unlike the older, lower-density stops further north along the Kōya Line, Mikanodai opened to serve the master-planned hillside development that adjoins it, and fiscal-2019 boardings averaged about 3,659 passengers daily.
