History
Nagose Station opened on 24 December 1925 as the temporary terminus of the Mizuma Railway running inland from Kaizuka. On 30 January 1926 the line was extended to what is today Mizuma-Kannon, demoting Nagose to an intermediate stop. The station has the only passing facilities on the otherwise single-track line, so every Mizuma Line crossing takes place here. Staffing was withdrawn on 18 December 1985 and the station building was demolished on 4 June 1993; access today is via a foot crossing at the southeast end of the platform up a short ramp. The line introduced PiTaPa one-man working on 1 June 2009, but Nagose itself never received platform-side card readers — fares are collected on-board.

Notes
Nagose is the only place where Mizuma Line trains can pass each other; every crossing on the line is scheduled to happen at this station, with no exceptions during normal service hours.
