History

Furu-Takamatsu Station opened on 18 November 1911 on the Tosan Electric Tramway and shares the same lineage as other early Shido-line stops: it passed to Shikoku Hydroelectric in 1916, to Sanuki Electric Railway in 1942, and to the Takamatsu-Kotohira Electric Railroad on 1 November 1943 when wartime mergers consolidated Kagawa's operators. In October 1969 the station was relocated from its original position along National Route 11 to a site nearer the Aibiki River, prompted by construction of the Takamatsu Hokubu Bypass. Designated station S07, the unstaffed at-grade stop sits 5.7 km from Kawaramachi with a single side platform serving bi-directional traffic.
